Unsubscribe, please

Friday, January 27th, 2006

Dear subscription service,

Please allow me the ability to successfully unsubscribe from your annoying news emails that I never signed up for in the first place. Please provide me with a “working” form where at the minimum, 1 in 100 times I can can actually submit your stinking form. If I can unsubscribe, I’ll gladly try it 100 times (believe me, I’ve tried, and counted). Please take some time and fix your broken pages on the web.

For those of us who make a living building usable, accessible web sites, we hate your half-thought out data collection plans and the message you send to all the average web users out there. Some of us care and work hard each and every day to provide a good web experience to those who visit our sites. Please don’t spoil it for everyone.

Thanks for listening.

Thirties style boxing

Thursday, January 26th, 2006

So the question came up at work, Who would win in a 30’s style boxing match between Chuck Norris and Arnold Schwarzenegger? We’re talking Chuck Norris (Texas Ranger) vs. Arnold Schwarzenegger (Predator) here. Not Fitness expert vs. California Governor. How about between these dynamic duos?

  • Chevy Chase vs. Rodney Dangerfield
  • Superman vs. Batman
  • Jerry Seinfeld vs. Bill Cosby
  • Tommy Lee vs. Iggy Pop

Weigh in and keep’em above the belt!

Silent Drive

Wednesday, January 25th, 2006

This morning I decided to drive into work in complete silence. That’s something I haven’t done since I had my first car. It was the daily norm then, since the car didn’t have a working radio.

Since then, I’ve become accustomed to having music on in the morning for the drive. Today, for some reason, I turned it off as soon as I got in my car. Maybe it has something to do with the splitting headache I’ve had for two days now. Who knows the reason behind it, but I’ll accept it and keep on rolling to work in silence.

I think tomorrow, I’ll turn it back on.

Bond-a-holic

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

I’m a huge James Bond fan. I could watch Bond movies around the clock (and many weekends, I do) for weeks on end. So much so, that if you watch every Bond movie ever made, here’s how long you’d be there: 2,724 minutes or (45 hours, 24 minutes) or (1 days, 21, hours, 24 minutes). Below I’ve listed my favorite Bond movies in the order of most to least favorite.

  1. Goldfinger (1964)
  2. From Russia With Love (1963)
  3. The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)
  4. Dr. No (1962)

Which Bond movie is your favorite?
