Browsing Alternatives
Jason
Since yesterday, I’ve been giving Camino 1.0 a test drive. So far, so good. While I use Firefox as my primary browser, I’ve begun to get slightly annoyed by some of the “features” on OS X. The issues with form fields and viewing source code can be a pain when you’re testing sites and reading/posting on blogs. It’s the Web Developer toolbar thats keeping me on Firefox, hence the trial of Camino.
Camino is Mozilla based and a bit Mac OS X-ified. A few of the new features include: a new tab bar appearance, the ability to pause/resume downloads, form fill from Address Book, History searching and more.
If your looking for a browser without all the frills, but is lightweight and gets the job done, give Camino a chance.

Camino’s been my primary browser for years. It’s far too easy to weigh down a Firefox install with too many “cool” extensions that you never really end up using. Of course, I keep Firefox around for the Web Developer toolbar, but it’s still nice to seperate the business of web dev QA from the pleasure of normal web surfing.
Camino’s integration with the Keychain is the thing that sold me on it way back when. I’m using CaminoKnight every few days to get the latest nightly.

I’m still using IE 3.0 and I think it’s just great!
Kidding.
Please.
Put down the gun.
