Is it just me, or have bikes gotten a little cooler over time?
The Living Wage
July 26th, 2006
Seems that Chicago is the first large city to implement a “living wage” for big retailers. By 2010, large retailers will have to pay workers at least $10 dollars per hour and another $3 dollars in fringe benefits. While I agree that companies like Wal-Mart, who make billions each year can afford this wage, I think it’ll cause a lot more retailers to think twice about opening large retail chains within city limits.
While many of these retailers will simply move their locations to the suburbs, I want to see how many actually stick it out in the city and pay the wages. How will these added costs be passed along to the us, the consumer? Only time will tell, but I can bet the profits of these companies won’t change much as a result.
What’s your opinion on the “living wage”?
Lost in Analytics
July 25th, 2006

I’ve written about web logs before, but I’m hooked. It’s getting hard to count the amount of hours I’ve been spending pouring through Google Analytics. It’s such a useful tool that I never know how I made it without it. I find myself looking at all kinds of stats from Unique Visitors, to Geo-location maps, to bounce pages, the list could go on and on.
Does anyone else out there share the same opinion as me when it comes to this tool?
Project Management, the Omni way
July 22nd, 2006

Seems the fine folks over at The Omni Mouth have untied the tongue and mentioned the soon-to-be released OmniPlan. OmniPlan is a project management tool that is being hyped as “Project management made painless”.
Keep your eyes open for the beta, which looks like it’ll arrive in about 10 days. Should be a great tool.
