Fuel for the Trail

I big part of cycling is re-fueling, both while on the trail and after. One favorite of many cyclists and outdoorsman, is GORP. You know, Good Old Raisins and Peanuts. Or maybe you know it as trail mix.

However you know, it’s both an ideal snack food and a great source of energy. GORP is easy to make, even easier to transport and an excellent source of high-energy, high minerals and vitamins. Some of my favorite ingrediants in GORP include:

  • peanuts
  • dried fruits
  • dried berries
  • M&Ms
  • Cheerios

Some riders prefer to take nutrition bars or energy bars. Give me a bag of GORP and I’m ready to hit the trail.

What snacks do you prefer to have on the trail?
