A sigh of relief
September 16th, 2006
Red Wings goalie Dominik Hasek took a deep breath after the first Wings training camp session. Hasek relieved that he put his often injuried groin to the test and, for the time being, felt great. Hasek only has to worry about the remaining 200+ days of hockey that he’ll be tested.
The Red Wings are cautious, seeing that Hasek hasn’t finished the past two seasons due to his groin injury. Training camp and the early part of the season will be a defining point in this upcoming season. The Red Wings and Hasek have “somewhat agreed” that a 50 game season would be a fair amount of net time for the netminder.
With a little hope and luck, Hasek will be able to help the Wings do something they haven’t done as of late. Go deep into the playoffs. With the first preseason game on Tuesday, time is ticking.
