Plant more corn
March 31st, 2007
U.S. farmers will plant more acres of corn this year than at any time since 1944, according to new data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
While plantings of soybeans, cotton, and rice are all down, the Agriculture Department projects that 90.5 million acres of corn will be planted this year — 15 percent more than in 2006.
The trend is tied to the boom in demand for ethanol, which has pushed up the price of corn.

Today is Stop Cyberbullying Day. I wrote a brief post about cyberbullying back before all this nonsense started, but events this week have brought such a terrible thing to light.
I fully support all those who have been recent victims of such events and hope that these asshats responsible are brought to justice for such hate and cowardly approach to cyberbullying.

At what point does bad publicity become “good” in terms of mentions? Is bad publicity better than no publicity?
Working
March 28th, 2007
With the invention of the Internet (a series of tubes) we have the ability to work from anywhere. There’s really no need to be in an office in order to be productive.
Email allows us to send and receive files. Skype allows us to stay in touch via conference calls. Adium and Twitter provide us with up-to-the-minute updates as to the whereabouts of co-workers. RSS and web browsers bring both the news and current events to us, along with making all the research data we could ever use, a point-and-click away.
So I ask myself and you, why am I surrounded by the dull, gray walls of a cube day after day?
