I get really annoyed when I receive email adds asking to join a service that I’m already a customer of. For example, I’ve been with Cingular for nearly three years now and I still receive email offers asking me to become a Cingular customer. Hello, I am one already.

And it’s a wonder why the click-through-rate for email marketing is dismal. At the least, these companies should be checking customer databases against email mailing lists to ensure your contacting the right person/people.

In case you’ve missed the commercials, the Discovery Channel airs the first episode in the series for Planet Earth on Sunday, March 25th at 8PM.

The site opens with a preview of the show and then allows access to a 3D world where you can learn more about the animals the earth. Check it out and don’t miss the show on Sunday.

Friday voodoo

Driving into work this morning, the radio station had a psychic on the air. While I don’t believe in psychics, or the practice in general, I couldn’t help but notice that people were really being freaked out by what she was saying. It reminded me of an old quote:

Too bad you can’t buy a voodoo globe so that you could make the earth spin real fast and freak everybody out.
