Being a huge fan of the sport of hockey, there’s one reason(person) that really makes it interesting. Barry Melrose.
Hockey fans know Mr. Melrose. For those who don’t, he’s the guy on ESPN with the mullet. Given it’s 2007 and Mr. Melrose continues to sport a mullet, you can begin to see why he’s such a icon for the game of hockey.
Mr. Melrose is passionate about hockey. In his podcast, (The Melrose Line) Mr. Melrose gets even the newest fan of the game, excited. It’s his raw emotion, dedication, love of the game, and his strong role as an ambassador for the game that separates him from most hockey analysts.
The game of hockey needs more people like Mr. Melrose. People like Mr. Melrose who really live, breath, eat and sleep hockey. Folks who’ve had hockey in their blood for ages. People whose passion is infectious.
Mr. Melrose, my hat and skates are off to you.
