Nothing makes me happier than seeing gas prices go up. Adjusted for inflation, gas prices are not that bad. And no one ever seems to actually drive less when the prices go up… they just complain more.
Consumers are not entitled to cheap products if they continue to pay for them at higher prices. That’s market forces at work.
Now what I really want to know is what the magic price number is where consumers radically modify their behavior and purchase decisions.
The bigger the tank you have, and the more miles you get to the gallon probably mask the pain sligthly due to less frequent fillups. However, if you’re at the pump frequently then you’re more likely to modify your behavior.
