Blame it on the high price of employee health insurance or concern for your employees, but one company in Britain has told employees to stopping riding their bikes to work and other work related meetings. Funny, since the company works closely in the area of ‘green‘ transportation.
This is interesting since one of the companies largest clients is Transport for London, which main cause is to achieve a fivefold increase in the level of cycling by 2025.
Several employees are outraged, since they have been biking to work for several years without incident. Other employees are concerned that the company will lose business, as many of their clients are concerned about the environment and supported the concept of employees biking to work.
Sounds like this change is causing some saddle sores around the office.

When I rode a bike to work in England, being yelled at by passing drivers just for being on the road was a daily occurance. The best case scenario would probably be to lay cycle-only paths - and not just in a few places like there is now but literally everywhere there is a regular road. That way everybody’s happy.
I’d love to see something like that put into place here in the US. I think you’d see more healthy people and participation would be higher than expected. I don’t mind being yelled at by motorist, but I do mind them trying to run over cyclists.
