While sitting at the airport in NYC, I picked up the September copy of Adventure magazine from National Geographic. On page 56, the featured item on the Buy List is the Specialized Enduro SL Expert FSR.

Favorite outdoor retailer REI is offering a free clinic for those interested in commuting to work via cycling. The clinic aims to cover basics on commuting, with a focus on gear and apparel.

The event is being held at the Troy MI location of the REI store on September 27, 2007.

This morning I watched a man in what appeared to be his fifties jog for nearly one-half hour. The gentleman appeared to be fairly fit and in decent shape.

His stride appeared fluid, relaxed and well paced. The jogger appeared as if he’s being running for years.

The thing that caught my attention, was what occurred when the gentleman had finished his run.

He began to smoke. While people folks who exercise regularly perform some type of cool-down routine, this gentleman lit up.

I couldn’t help but wonder if this was the beginning of a quit smoking effort, the result of stress, or was this simply part of the gentleman’s daily routine?
