Image of La Crosse Wireless Weather Station

Over the holiday, I received a wireless thermometer system from La Crosse. I’ve seen these all over the place and my dad has used one for years and really likes having it around.

I set up the unit in minutes and began to watch it. It seems like such a small thing, but I find myself looking at the temperature often. The unit I have shows, indoor and outdoor temperature, high and low temps from the day, and the time. So it really squeezes in a lot of data in a small device.

It sort of gives you some pleasure in knowing that while I’m sitting there drinking my morning coffee, the temperature is 18 degrees outside and a cozy 65 degrees inside.

Do you use a weather station/thermometer or other weather device? If so, what are your thoughts?

Not in my class

The Argus is reporting a lecturer from the University of Brighton has criticized students for their heavy use of Google and Wikipedia.

Professor Tara Brabazon says that many university students are using both Google and Wikipedia as the first and only source when researching, thus taken things they find in the two as fact.

Professor Brabazon says:

“Too many students don’t use their own brains enough. We need to bring back the important values of research and analysis.”

What do you think? Should students be allowed to use Google and Wikipedia for research and to what extent?

Images of Mark Malkoff standing in front of IKEA

Remember the guy, Mark Malkoff, who visited 171 Starbucks locations in NYC over a 24 hour period? Well, he’s at it again.

This time, Mark has moved into an IKEA for a week. Mark moved in on January 7th and will remain in the IKEA until Saturday, January 12th.

During this time, Mark will eat, sleep, shower and pass his time inside the IKEA. Each day Mark will post a recap of his day for all to see. In case your interested, this will explain why Mark is living in the IKEA.

So this poses the question, Where would you choose to spend a week?

What, me worry?
