Search Options
December 7th, 2006

Always keeping an eye out for a widget that saves a little time and makes life easier, I was interested in Gwidget when I came across the feed in my reader. After a little research, I found that Gwidget returns the search results inside the widget in Dashboard, unlike most search widgets. Most open your default browser and display the results there.
This got me to thinking. Usually when I need to search I head to my browser (Safari), and use the built in Google search box there. Results are returned to me in my browser, which I need to use to find further info or to read the search results article/page.
So, this being said, which way do you prefer to search? In the browser itself or with a Dashboard widget?
Imagewell done
November 8th, 2006

One of my favorite little image editors went beta 3 on Tuesday. ImageWell is a free image editor. ImageWell lacks all the fancy tools and functions of Photoshop, but packs just enough features to be added to the dock. In the time it takes to open Photoshop, ImageWell is open and ready for action (go figure with a company name like xtralean). This is the main reason I like the little guy. It makes simple tasks of editing images a breeze.
While you can purchase a version for $14.95, I choose to stick with the basic version. If you’re a basic version user now, you can upgrade for the low price of $9.95 during the beta 3 period.
I have to ask, is anyone else out there using this little gem?
Apple of my eye
September 12th, 2006
In the words of Ice Cube “Today was a good day”, for Apple anyways. Today was the day that brought us many new and exciting updates from the company that just keeps on keeping on.
The iTunes Music Store is now the iTunes Store, complete with new blue icon. The iPod nano received a color bath. The Shuffle is now the world’s smallest MP3 player. Oh yes and by the way, you can buy movies from Apple.
All in all, I guess it was a good day. Which Apple update are you most excited about?
Apple Flight Rumors
July 10th, 2006
Sometimes rumors are just so much fun that you have to include them.
Less likely are rumors of iTunes taking to skies with a service offered in airplanes suggested that Apple is in talks with providers of in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems to offer air travelers iTunes-branded audio content during their flights, but said that such a deal is likely a “stretch.”
