Blogging Frequency
July 13th, 2006
The topic of blogging frequency came up in a mailing-list that I am a part of and it got me to thinking. Which is more important: posting to your blog everyday or posting when you have something new to say?
I know for one, I am guilty of feeling I have to blog each and every day. Often it leads to re-purposing a bit of news that I come across somewhere else on the Interweb. I know what causes that. It’s the fact that I’m quite ready to share what I do in my daily life with everyone who could potentially find the blog. Not that I have anything to hide, but I feel that most people aren’t going to want to read about some of the things I do each day.
On the other hand, I realize 100% that for readers to come to your blog, you need fresh content. Readers need to feel that your site is worth visiting each day if your looking to build readership. It boils down to finding the intention of your blog and finding a method to reach that target audience.
So all you readers out there, what’s your take on the situation? Do you prefer sites that post everyday (even if the content is sometimes lame) or do you prefer to only get content when the content is fresh and meaningful? Chime in now.
Take the number
June 30th, 2006
Nothing annoys me more than trying to fill out a form online using the ID you (insert company name here) have provided me and receiving and error message that the ID doesn’t exist. If you generate an ID, please make sure that your system can handle the real-time usage/expectations of a user.
Northwest Airlines provides me with a Frequent Flyer number. They send me a mileage summary report each month. The account number is the same each time on the report. When I try to login into your site with the SAME number, you tell me my number doesn’t exist. Interesting.
Seems with all the competition out there, you’d work to make this experience as simple as possible.

Dining experiences
June 24th, 2006
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed that when dining out, the service has been subpar. This has happened at various locations around the area I live in. I’ve dined in these places in the past and encountered no such experiences.
I’m not sure if it’s the case that I just so happened to catch new waiters/waitresses or if it’s just a string of bad luck. I just find it interesting that all of sudden, there seems to be a rash of bad service in the service industry.
Has anyone else noticed this trend recently?
