Tonight
October 3rd, 2007
The puck drops tonight here in Hockeytown. Another season gets under way tonight with hopes of lifting the trophy of Lord Stanley at center ice come spring 2008.
Several publications have picked the Wings to win the Cup, so as it gets underway tonight, I know where I’ll be. Glued to the TV seeing if we have what it takes to live up to the early season hype.
Beckham era begins
July 22nd, 2007
I, like millions of others, took the opportunity to watch David Beckham in his US debut Saturday night. I’m not a soccer fan, but like all sports fans, wanted to see what the hype and buzz was all about that surrounds Beckham.
Beckham suffering from an ankle injury, wasn’t expected to play much and didn’t. He played 12 minutes, but drew applause and enough flashes from cameras to light up the stadium.
From the intro’s and clips that ESPN aired leading up to the game, Beckham is truly talented. He’s a great player, much deserving all the praise thrust upon him. He’ll have a tough job in the US, to raise soccer to a premier sport. He seems honest in his approach and appears to be committed to making a difference in the sport he loves.
I wish Beckham all the luck and who knows, maybe I’ll watch a little more soccer.
Summer footwear
June 16th, 2007
Find yourself in the market for new summer sandals? If so, let me recommend the Teva Terra Fi 2 sport sandal. I have a pair of these and man are they kind to the feet.
They dry fast if your caught in that rain storm. They look great with shorts or pants. Great for around the house, out hiking a trail, or out on the town. They’re the kind of sandal that you can wear all day and not have your feet screaming at you at the end of the day.
Your feet will be glad you thought of them.
Family man

Leadership. Derek Fisher shows that being a superstar means more off the court than on. He’s proven that family comes first and he’s had to make some tough decisions over the past few days.
Derek Fisher is the kind of guy that kids need to look up to as rolemodel. A guy who makes millions, but puts it all aside to see that his daughter comes first.
Leadership is Derek Fisher.
