Disney Prints

Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

Walt Disney must be rolling over in his frozen cryogenic state right now. Disney World announced that it will soon begin finger-printing all visitors who visit any of the four Orlando area theme parks.

Disney made the decision in an effort to curb ticket fraud, but seems to me, there are better ways to tackle the issue. For more info on the story, head over to Engadget for the complete scoop.

Returned Art

It’s good to see the two paintings (Madonna and The Scream) stolen in 2004 and painted by Edvard Munch, were recovered on Thursday in Norway. The paintings were said to be in relatively good shape. That’s a good thing, since their worth was valued at $121 million. Many say “Madonna” alone could fetch more than that on it’s own.

Not sure what prompted individuals to think they could steal and either display or sell these paintings easily. I’d love to have seen them hanging on someone’s wall when the police came knocking.

Dylan’s cross-over personality

Friday, May 26th, 2006

In an article released by the Associated Press, Cate Blanchett has been chosen to portray the legendary Bob Dylan in an upcoming movie titled I’m Not There. She’ll portray a specific aspect of Dylan’s personality, embodied by an androgynous singer-songwriter character named Jude, according to Killer Films, the movie’s production company.

Others who have signed on to appear in the film are: Heath Ledger and his girlfriend Michelle Williams, along with Christian Bale, Julianne Moore and Richard Gere.
